

Ram Charan
Ram Charan (born Konidela Ram Charan Teja) is an Indian actor, film producer, and entrepreneur who works predominantly in Telugu cinema alongside Hindi and pan-Indian productions. Born on March 27, 1985, in Madras (present-day Chennai), Tamil Nadu, to Megastar Chiranjeevi and Surekha Konidela, he completed his early schooling at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Chennai, and Lawrence School, Lovedale, before attending St. Mary's College, Hyderabad. Trained in acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai, he made a high-impact feature film debut in Puri Jagannadh's action thriller *Chirutha* (2007), which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South and the Nandi Special Jury Award. Charan achieved monumental stardom and career-defining industry records with his second film, S. S. Rajamouli's fantasy action epic *Magadheera* (2009). Portraying the dual roles of the warrior Kala Bhairava and modern-day Harsha, the film became the highest-grossing Telugu film of its time and earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu and a Nandi Special Jury Award. Over the subsequent decade, he established himself as one of South Indian cinema's biggest box-office draws, headlining popular hits including *Orange* (2010), *Racha* (2012), *Naayak* (2013), his Hindi debut in Apoorva Lakhia's *Zanjeer* / *Thoofan* (2013), *Yevadu* (2014), *Govindudu Andarivadele* (2014), and Surender Reddy's stylized cop thriller *Dhruva* (2016). He founded his film production banner, Konidela Production Company, producing high-profile blockbusters including Chiranjeevi's milestone return *Khaidi No. 150* (2017), the historical biopic *Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy* (2019), and *Godfather* (2022). In 2018, Charan delivered a benchmark artistic performance as the hearing-impaired village mechanic Chitti Babu in Sukumar's period rural drama *Rangasthalam* (2018), earning widespread critical acclaim and winning his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. He achieved global recognition and international stardom portraying the fierce revolutionary Alluri Sitarama Raju in S. S. Rajamouli's cinematic phenomenon *RRR* (2022) alongside N. T. Rama Rao Jr., earning a nomination for Best Actor in an Action Movie at the Critics' Choice Super Awards. He starred alongside Chiranjeevi in Koratala Siva's *Acharya* (2022) and headlined S. Shankar's political action drama *Game Changer* (2025) opposite Kiara Advani. His filmography extends to Buchi Babu Sana's rustic sports action drama *Peddi* (2026) alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar, followed by his upcoming reunion collaboration with director Sukumar.
