

Rodney Rothman (born January 1, 1974)Ā is an American filmmaker and author. He is known for his work onĀ Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VerseĀ (2018) (which served as his feature directorial debut),Ā Popstar: Never Stop Never StoppingĀ (2016),Ā 22 Jump StreetĀ (2014),Ā Forgetting Sarah MarshallĀ (2008), andĀ Get Him to the GreekĀ (2010), as well as being part of the writing staff of the showsĀ The 67 MovieĀ andĀ Late Show with David Letterman. He has been nominated for fiveĀ Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Rothman is the author of the best-selling nonfiction humour bookĀ Early Bird: A Memoir of Premature Retirement. His writing has also appeared inĀ The New Yorker,Ā GQ,Ā The New York Times,Ā The New York Times Magazine, andĀ McSweeney's Quarterly. His piece "My Fake Job" was included inĀ The Best American Nonrequired Reading. He has also written for other books, Such as Camp Camp by Rodger Bennet. His work onĀ Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VerseĀ earned him theĀ Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, theĀ Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature FilmĀ andĀ Annie Awards forĀ DirectingĀ andĀ Writing in a Feature Production.
